Melissa CampanelliMelissa Campanelli, Editor-in-Chief   

Melissa Campanelli is the Editor-in-Chief of Retail Online Integration, a monthly print magazine, website and e-letter (The ROI Report) that's all about the integration of sales channels, including print/catalog, transactional websites and retail stores, as well as email, mobile, social media and more.

Melissa is also the Editor-in-Chief of the Target Marketing Group's eM+C brand, a series of e-letters, webinars and virtual trade shows focusing on the world of e-marketing and e-commerce.

Prior to those positions, Melissa spent ten years at DM News, where she was first a senior editor and then deputy editor. She's also a leading expert in small business e-commerce and author of the books "Entrepreneur Magazine's Open an Online Business in 10 Days" and "55 Surefire Internet Businesses You Can Start for Under $5,000."

Joe Keenan is the senior editor of Retail Online Integration. In addition to writing cover stories and features for the print magazine, Joe oversees The ROI Report, the publication's e-newsletter. He's also the senior editor for the Target Marketing Group's web-only brand, eM+C, and has contributed articles for fellow Target Marketing Group publications Book Business and Publishing Executive magazines. Previously, he served as senior editor at Reed Technology & Information Services for five years, and also worked as a sportswriter for Montgomery Newspapers.

Meredith CunninghamMeredith Cunningham, Production/Online Editor

Meredith Cunningham is the production/online editor for Retail Online Integration, its e-newsletter, The ROI Report, and website, RetailOnlineIntegration.com. Meredith is also the production/online editor for the Target Marketing Group's web-only brand, eM+C.

Before coming to North American Publishing Company, Meredith served as sports editor for The Evening Bulletin in Philadelphia, and was a designer for the Bucks County Courier-Times. She earned a bachelor's degree in journalism from Utica College of Syracuse University in 2007.

Denny Hatch is the only editor of a direct marketing publication with 30 years’ experience in direct marketing. Formerly the editor-in-chief of Target Marketing, where he now writes the Famous Last Words column, Hatch’s background also includes stints as a book club director for Macmillan and Meredith, three and a half years as a copywriter for The Weintz Company and a freelance copywriter and designer for 16 years. In 1984, Hatch launched Who’s Mailing What!, the monthly newsletter and archive service. In December 1992, Who’s Mailing What! was acquired by NAPCO and was relaunched in the summer of 1998 as Inside Direct Mail

Tony AmbrozaTony Ambroza, Tony Ambroza, Vice President of Marketing, Carhartt, Inc.

As vice president of marketing for Carharrt, Inc., Tony is responsible for preserving the Carhartt brand, building brand equity, and driving sales through strategic marketing plans designed to support Carhartt’s business initiatives. He also serves as the marketing liaison to the corporate strategy team and leads the marketing team in innovative marketing tactics designed to support corporate strategy.

Tony joined Carhartt in October 2010 and brings with him a strong background of apparel industry knowledge, extensive retail partnership experience, impressive leadership skills, and a visionary approach to brand management. Tony gained experience in the apparel industry working for five years at Under Armour, Inc., serving as both director of men’s brand marketing and director of retail marketing. While at Under Armour, Tony helped lead the brand’s fast expansion in sporting goods retail through the launch of new partnership marketing programs – most notably the brand’s first major shop and fixture roll-out. Tony also made his mark at Nike, Inc., where he worked in the U.S. brand marketing division for more than six years. Prior to Nike, Tony spearheaded national promotions and managed marketing partnerships with major vendors as the Director of Marketing for Planet Hollywood International. While at Planet Hollywood he also managed the marketing and public relations efforts of the popular restaurant chain, the Official All Star Café.

During his tenure at eBags, an online retailer of luggage, handbags, backpacks and business cases, Cobb has been responsible for marketing, merchandising and growing eBags’ international presence.

Catherine DavisCatherine Davis, Direct Marketing Director, The Container Store

Since joining The Container Store in April 2008, Catherine is responsible for all online marketing, customer database and CRM initiatives. Previously, Catherine was director of brand marketing at Neiman Marcus, where she was responsible for direct mail planning for the brand’s catalog, as well as web marketing for the Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman and Cusp websites.

 

Kevin ErtellKevin Ertell, Chief Marketing Officer, OnlineShoes.com

Kevin Ertell is currently chief marketing officer at OnlineShoes.com. Prior to that, Kevin was at ForeSee Results, where he worked with the product, delivery, client services and marketing teams to maximize their value to ForeSee’s retail clients. Kevin is a 25-year retailer with over 13 years of critical e-commerce experience. Ertell was formerly vice president and managing director of Tower Records. More recently, Kevin was the senior vice president of e-business with Borders, where he relaunched Borders.com as an e-commerce site. Kevin is also a member of Shop.org’s board of directors, Shop.org’s policy advisory committee and the Cross-Channel Retailing Consortium.

Mike's company, an internet and catalog specialist retailer of telephone headsets, has grown from a $40,000 investment in 1998 to a $30 million company today.

 

Lauren FreedmanLauren Freedman, president, the e-tailing group, inc.

Lauren is a seasoned 15-year e-commerce veteran as well as a recognized and respected figure in the online retail industry. Lauren founded the e-commerce consultancy firm the e-tailing group in 1993 after an extensive career as a department/specialty store buyer.

 

George HagueGeorge Hague, Principal, HAGUEdirect

A regular contributor to All About ROI and Catalog Success before it, George founded the HAGUEdirect consulting agency. Previously he was a member of the Shawnee Mission, Kan.-based consulting and creative agency, J. Schmid & Assoc. He has more than 10 years of experience in circulation, advertising, consulting and financial strategy in the catalog/retail industry. George’s expertise includes circulation strategy, mailing execution, response analysis and financial planning.

Before joining J. Schmid, George worked as catalog marketing director at Dynamic Resource Group, Berne, Ind. There he handled the marketing and merchandising for the Annie’s Attic Needlecraft catalog, the Clotilde Sewing Notions catalog, the House of White Birches Quilter’s catalog and three book clubs. He also worked on corporate acquisitions.

Richard E. Last is currently lecturing at the University of North Texas where he leads their new Digital Retail major, a unique program among U.S. Universities. Mr. Last has over 20 years of experience in Digital Retailing. Under Mr. Last’s leadership, JCPenney began selling merchandise via the Web in October 1994, the first Department Store online, and by 2005, the first $1Billion Apparel and Home website.,. Prior to jcp.com, Mr. Last led various electronic retailing efforts for JCPenney including online services and interactive TV. He also led JCPenney’s international expansion of its catalog business in the 90’s in the UK, Japan, Mexico, and Chile. Since 2007, Mr. Last has served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Shop.org, the world’s leading membership community for digital retail. He also serves on the Board of Governors of the University Of North Texas School Of Merchandising and the Board of Directors of the National Retail Federation Foundation. Mr. Last serves on the Advisory Board of TagMan and the Advisory Board of The Abundant Closet LLC.

 

Stephen LettStephen R. Lett, President, Lett Direct Inc.

Steve heads his Delaware-based catalog consulting firm specializing in circulation planning, forecasting and analysis. A regular contributor to Retail Online Integration and Catalog Success before it, he spent the first 25 years of his career with leading catalog companies, both business-to-business and consumer.

 

Susan McIntyreSusan McIntyre, Founder & Chief Strategist, McIntyre Direct

Susan heads her Portland, Ore.-based agency and consulting firm for catalogers. A regular contributor to Retail Online Integration and Catalog Success before it, McIntyre's broad experience with cataloging in integrated marketing environments, plus her common- sense understanding of customers and bottom-line approach, have won McIntyre Direct such clients as Pendleton Woolen Mills, Patagonia, Mary Kay Cosmetics, C.C.
